December Newsletter

Updated: Dec 15, 2018

Welcome to the Cloudgate Theatre Newsletter, a monthly series where we feature the artistic work, side hustles, and exciting life updates of our staff and artistic associates. We're biased, obviously, but we think this represents some of the most exciting work happening in Chicago and around the country! Feel free to get in touch with us at cloudgatetheatre@gmail.com if you'd like further details on any of the below projects!

Tara Branham (Artistic Associate) is in rehearsals for a workshop production of Artistic Associate Tanuja Jagernauth's HOW TO PICK A LOCK at RhinoFest at Prop Thtr. Tara is directing this play-in-progress production that rehearses between performances, so audience members can come attend multiple times and never see the same play twice! HOW TO PICK A LOCK will perform Wednesdays 1/21 - 2/13.

Dominic DiGiovanni (Artistic Associate) got engaged to arts journalist and queer advocate KT Hawkbaker! Please join us in wishing Dominic and KT all the best!

Sarah D. Espinoza (Artistic Associate) just finished her first semester at Northwestern University's MA in Sound Arts and Industries program.

Gregory Geffrard (Artistic Associate) is currently performing in MISS BENNETT CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLY by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon at TheatreSquared in Fayetville, Arkansas; it runs until December 30th.

Kristin Idaszak (Artistic Director) is developing her play ELEVEN MONTHS through a workshop with Circle X and The Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, where she is an Affiliated Writer. ELEVEN MONTHS in co-created by Circle X Artistic Director Kate Jopson, Phamily Artistic Director and disability advocate Regan Linton, and dramaturg and scholar Lily Kelting.

Tanuja Jagernauth (Artistic Associate) was named the Marcelle McVay Management Fellow at Victory Gardens. This is part of Victory Garden's Next Generation Fellowship program, which provides "comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level."

Anna Wooden (Artistic Associate) recently closed THE WALLS OF HARROW HOUSE with Rough House Theatre as Co-Costume Designer and a part of the puppet builder team. Anna's crafting company, Craftiga, is proud of their deer mask and gnome hats in Mary Zimmerman's THE STEADFAST TIN SOLDIER at Lookingglass Theatre.
